The fifth annual Youth Scholarship Awards Ceremony will be held on Sunday June 24, 2001 at 3:00 p.m. at:

Vedic Cultural Centre, 4345 14th Avenue,
Markham, Ontario L3R 0J2, Canada

This program was inaugurated in 1997 to recognize academic, leadership and community achievements by the secondary school graduates.
Five scholarships totaling $4,250 are offered annually.

First place winner would receive the floating Dharam Pall and Samitra Devi Syal Memorial Trophy for Academic Achievement

Criteria:
At least one parent of South Asian or Indo-Caribbean origin. Must maintain at least 80% average in 6 O.A.C. subjects. Provide proof of participation in extra-curricular activities. Provide proof of participation in one community voluntary service activity performed outside the school. Come to the Vedic Cultural Centre on June 25, 2000 at 3:00 p.m. to participate in a 3-5 minute Oral Presentation (a choice of topics will be sent in advance to all applicants)
